But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I should really start a personal tumblr so I can just reblog Chris Hemsworth all day, but I figure other people do that plenty, so I can just look.....

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Twitter remains my instant-gratification-media favorite. Tumblr confuses me.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Ben just had sushi for the first time with a friend and liked it. Lee will be so proud.

I AM! Perhaps I should have sushi for dinner to celebrate.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am fighting off an anxiety attack about my boss returning tomorrow. And by fighting off I mean, I am aware that I am on teh edge of one and I am attempting to deep breathe, but it is really not helping.

He is not responding to my emails, despite sending other emails. The HR person who I send my timesheets and sent me two emails today (and she never sends emails), both kinda watchdoggy. One requested that I make sure my boss approves my timesheet (which he always has, but that was pre-writing up). And the second which told me to make sure I logged my sick day in this internal thingy. I had no idea we logged sick days there. It is where we ask for vacation days and they get approved or denied, but sick days can't be approved or denied post date of abscence - that makes no sense. Also, I do not think we have a set # of sick days, just that if you are out more than X days in a row you must have a Dr. note. So I now think I am on a list of problem employees who are being carefully watched which is such utter bs, I cannot even.

Because books.

Oh, msbelle, it's awful to work with that kind of tension. What the hell is their problem?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, msbelle, that sucks. I totally understand the boss-created unnecessary anxiety.

Man, I hate corporate reindeer games.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

But, Steph, WHY do white people all want rope corsets? We need a research grant to study this phenomenon, stat.

Oooh, research grant! Yes, definitely!

Steph, I'm not sure you have to have been born with a penis, and there's always the possibility that merely having sex with a member of the family suffices for entree. I'm willing to broker that if need be.

I think my whole monogamy dealie with Tim has a loophole clause for trip-to-Jamaica-for-awesome-party-with-kickass-family. It MUST.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

msbelle,

can you speak to the HR person (in person) to let her know that there is some tension between you and your boss? I feel like you need to explain the situation to someone.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

"I see sub (SUB) text in 'chasing and killing a black man with a pack of wild dogs'

After 40 years of minstrel shows of Uncle Tom's Cabin, mainly featuring Eliza fleeing over the ice from a pack of dogs, how can there not be a racial subtext?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm also spending the day chit chatting with a guy that doesn't like the "recent" (and clearly PC) trend of using actor to refer to women (which butchers the language). I told him he's really adapting to computers really well, considering the word's been gender neutral for at least 99 years now (thank you, erinaceous, for wordnik's one stop shop), and it's a shame he's not as adept at English as he is with technology.

I almost went off to the all IT meeting half an hour early. Yikes. I managed to panic someone that it involved performance, since we need to bring cameras. It was worth actually having that low level paranoia myself.

Good lord, a co worker just offered me a hug. I offered to call HR. Let's be realistic here.
