Anne, the room looks fabulous. I love the wall color, and the floor is beautiful.
Also, someone seems to have scrambled all the letters on my keyboard today. It's three letters typed, backstroke, fix one--no that's still wrong, fix it again, and three letters...no.
Anne, that is such a peaceful, cheerful room!
Thank you! It's a very, very relaxing space. I still can't believe it's finally done.
I bet Jeeves is relieved it's done!!
Very, although he apparently liked to 'supervise' the construction whenever noisy power tools were not being used.
My mom and my sister are coming to Chicago for the day tomorrow. I'm planning to show them around my office and take them for a meal, but I don't know what to do with the rest of the time they'll be here because the heat index tomorrow is going to be ridonk.
Send them to a museum! Or the American Girl store, whichever is more to their interests.
That's a lovely room, in a way I'm coming to realise I just don't do lovely. My room is fairly tidy...for me. Now's as good a time as any for me to be photographing my apartment (fuck, I went another day without organising a cleaner or carpet cleaning--see, there could be
better
days)...god, vapid.
Anyway, I have one status report to write and one more check of my emails to make before I can call it a day.
My boss checked with me today to make sure I didn't tell my manager he didn't make me cry. Ha! No. I described it as "an incredibly illuminating discussion about many things, including the limitations we have on resources". My ambassador father would be proud.
My mother distinctly less so.
My replacement computer is supposed to arrive tomorrow, and I *have* to go in tomorrow afternoon, since there's a mystery all-IT event with drinking afterwards. That requires cameras. They say to bring your iPhones. What kind of IT department is that? Sometimes I despair of them...
