Speaking of white people...I was at a BBQ last night, and the girl who had caused the BBQ (she got her PhD) had NEVER HAD SMORES. Because she said it was a white people thing. We were aghast (and made her eat one). I ate two smores, to help make up for her lack.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

My cable TV will be gone on July 28. I'm...kind of sad about it, even though I mostly use it to watch random sporting events, awards shows, Animal Planet, and Tabatha Takes Over.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I copped yesterday to never having been in a bouncy house, and nope never had smores either. Not because it's white. Because it's American.

Oh, sorry! I mixed up your post with Jilli's, Jesse. They had similar colour values.

Ha! Yeah, I'm fascinated by the written-on jacket from an asylum, but I can't imagine it going on Good Things.

But bouncy houses and s'mores are wonderful! Tho I ended up putting my toasted marshmallow and chocolate on tortilla chips yesterday, because I didn't have GF graham crackers with me.

Now I wanna go in a bouncy house. I love them.

ita, you should do both of those things. But especially the smores.

le nubian, I don't know--I hadn't ever met her before that night (I knew the host, rather than the person being feted)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I had never had s'mores until fairly recently, because I have marshmallow issues.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Have you never been around a campfire whilst in America? Toasting marshmallows can be very zen if you have the patience for it. Add chocolate and graham crackers afterward and it's just... delightful. Microwave versions don't count.

I don't recall ever being in a bouncy house.

There is nothing zen about flaming balls of sugar. Excitement, yes, but not zen.

(What do you mean, you aren't supposed to set the marshmallows on fire? That's just crazy talk.)
