Recognizable enough that it sounds familiar and I feel like I should know about him and am like "oh yeah" when you mention Hurt Locker? Yes. Recognizable in that if you'd instead told me it was the name of some guy I'd forgotten I went to school with, I wouldn't have been surprised either. ;). But I don't think I've seen any of his movies (no, I haven't seen Avengers)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I thought Scarlett Johannsen was pretty recognisable to the guy on the street. And that Chris Evans wasn't doing too badly for himself. Definitely not RDJ profile, but he's been in a number of decently grossing popcornish type flicks. And Scarlett has great breasts and leaked topless pics. You can't buy that (lack of) coverage. (eta: and hers seemed to have more waves that Hendricks)

Apparently Fillion said that he couldn't be in the Avengers universe movies because he wasn't famous enough. I don't understand how Renner could be, and him not. Fillion's not a movie star or anything, but he's got his own comfortable niche, and Renner has a more forgettable face (no, I'm not saying that because I'm a hatah), as well as more acting chops, and more ability to disappear into a role, which Fillion is decidedly not doing these days.

As for the extended release, that's not really a rumour, yeah? Like no one in the movie's camp ever said that it was an idea.

Ah didn't read the comments. People care one way or another about armpit hair? OOkay...

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Renner is known by the people who pay attention to the names of actors which probably overlaps quite a bit with people who saw Hurt Locker. I think his face is pretty well known, but the name less so.

I would think ScarJo is pretty well known. She's had just enough tabloid coverage for name recognition.

I think Scarlett Johannsen is well-known, yes. But does the average person know she's in The Avengers? I doubt it.

You hadn't noticed the Western (at least) ideal was for hairless female armpits? (While not explicitly so for men, I have a sneaking suspicion that pit hair is not particularly cromulent in general--it should probably be trimmed to meet standards)

Who are the people that are still talking about this [link] to this day?

I didn't know about this controversy until this day. I don't judge her body hair choices, however.

I don't think Jeremy Renner is particularly well-known. I enjoy him lots, though, so continued getting-well-known to him. The first I knew of him was in The Unusuals but I'm not sure I knew his name.

[Edited to add "don't" to that sentence up there...]

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Kinda quiet in here...

hip deep in pie

The Avengers is the first thing I've seen Renner in. I'd heard of him, but I didn't get the appeal. He's great on screen...it never came through in pictures.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Who are the people that are still talking about this [link] to this day?

I didn't know about this controversy until this day. I don't judge her body hair choices, however.

I actually remember it--IIRC, her response when someone tried to shame her for it was that she actually had hair there because she'd had some minor procedure (draining a cyst, maybe?) and wasn't shaving or wearing sleeves so as not to irritate the site, and she thought the whole thing was ridiculous. Ridiculous that she'd either shave or not shave for a boyfriend instead of herself, and ridiculous that people apparently though she should have either stayed home or not waved at fans out of shame until she could denude her pits again. There was an undertone of "I am too polite and too much a lady to tell you all to GROW THE FUCK UP, PEOPLE, but, really, GROW THE FUCK UP, PEOPLE" to it that really made me like her quite a bit more.
