Buffy: A Guide, but no water or food. So it leads me to the sacred place and then a week later it leads you to my bleached bones? Giles: Buffy, really. It takes more than a week to bleach bones.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can't believe I got invited to be in a flash mob and I can't do it! boooo. I mean, not that I definitely would have done it anyway, but I like the idea! I legitimately don't believe they actually happen in real life.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

For folks who own a BWM, does it have an RF fob that lets you start it without a key?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Anne is certainly far better educated than Laura, and more confident in circumstances requiring intelligence or people skills. But come the zombie apocalypse, Laura would be more likely to survive.

Casper is having a somewhat self-conscious and hilarious meltdown over her difficulty drawing an oval for a head. Direct quote: "Why am I so uncircular? WHY? Ovals mock me."

Hah! To a certain extent, yes. IIRC, Anne never even ends up doing any work around the farm, except maybe bringing the cows in occasionally, or collecting eggs. She's all about the domestic arts. Whereas doesn't Laura have to go pick locusts off the crops at one point, and help haul water and all?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

doesn't Laura have to go pick locusts off the crops at one point, and help haul water and all?

I remember during the long winter, Laura helps her dad twist straw into fuel for the fire. Her hands get so rough from it she wonders if she'll ever be able to sew again without the thread catching on her callouses.

Anne was written by a woman who grew up solidly middle-class (her paternal grandfather was a Canadian Senator) and Laura was written by, well, Laura - the daughter of a hardscrabble and neither provident nor lucky farmer.

I would love to go to Morocco and see what I could find about Murat Reis, my pirate ancestor.

This place looks seriously awesome. I'm seriously thinking it. Maybe Octoberish if I can find someone who wants to go.
