Oh, god, that sounds amazing.
It is SO good. I make my own syrup, then strain out the slices of ginger, sprinkle them with sugar and use them to garnish the glass (homemade candied ginger, basically). A little extra effort, but I'm worth it.
While there had been strain on the marriage, the final straw was finding out he had been molesting their daughter.

when I don't feel like the effort, my quick cocktail is bourbon and San Pelligrino lemon soda. The tanginess of the lemon and the sweetness of the bourbon are lovely.
