And then when her second child -a daughter - was born he husband had to talk her out of naming her Hobbes. Seriously!
"If you do this, then know that she will forever see you as nasty, brutish and short."
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Yeah, Jessica's line about Ann Romney not knowing how many horses she owns is pretty killer.
Oh, wait, you mean how the GOP is engaged in class warfare? Yeah, that too. Erm.
Oh, I mean that those of us not in the 1% should be focusing on that divide and tax policy and etc etc, not these bullshit Mommy Wars or whatever.
Stephanie Cutter one of Arom's defenders said something along the lines of "no one works harder than a stay at home Mom" which is insulting to woman who work outside the home AND take care of kids,
And responding to it in this way is insulting to women whose work is taking care of their kids. No matter which side you take in the Mommy Wars, women lose. All of us.
Yeah, Jessica's line about Ann Romney not knowing how many horses she owns is pretty killer.
Having fact-checked this, technically it's Mitt who doesn't know how many horses his wife owns. I still think it's a safe assumption that "How many horses do you have again, honey?" isn't a conversation most working class husbands and wives are having.
Doesn't she also have "a couple" of Cadillacs?
No matter which side you take in the Mommy Wars, women lose. All of us.
This.
Meanwhile, I registered for Pottermore this morning, and I still haven't gotten the email saying I can actually play yet. Hmph.
So, what gets me about all of this (and I agree that to even start down the road of who works harder is kind of a swamp of despair - even with 70+% of mothers working outside of the home), is that it is privilege and wealth that should be at issue.
Honestly, I really couldn't care less if the Romneys are wealthy, except for the fact that Romney's main policy points (that he will disclose) are for tax cuts for the rich. I honestly don't understand this. When you are just about as wealthy as God, WTF do you need MOAR MONEY?
Why? For what purpose? Why?
You have multiple homes, an upcoming car elevator, horsies, offshore bank accounts, isn't there a point where you don't really need MORE $$.
But also this. Spinsters were young! And also old, obviously.
I think I've told this story before, but my mom was 27 when my parents got married. The marriage license lists her as "spinster".
Twenty-seven! How on earth did she find someone to marry her??
(Kidding, obviously....)
Fortunately she found herself a "divorcé".
Heh.
I will note that when I met with a matchmaker at maybe 35, she said basically my only shot was divorced men in their late 40s, so. (Not that I am against them! But come ON. Not every man is looking for a woman 10 years younger.)
