I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Mac & cheese does sound yum. But my takeaway from the story of your day, Kat, is: avocado tree! Awesome!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The is very cool, it's true.

That's a lot, Kat.

It's cooling down a bit outside, which is good for all my poor neighbors. I saw the elderly lady across the street sitting out on her porch, so took over a thermos with water and ice and and order to her and the lady next door (whose name I shockingly don't know!) that if they need anything, to let me know.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am going to call Stephanie's dog sitter, dog shitter.

Good one.

Poor cats! Be more healthy.

I made it to the wedding in plenty of time, and had a good enough time. It was hot as shit in there, so luckily it was a family friend and I just left with my parents. And got compliments on my dress from two stranger ladies on the way home!

Nice!

Wow, just saw the numbers on the outages. BGE serves about 1.2 million customers. 418K lost power. That's a fucking THIRD.

Making more ice in my meager 3 trays to give to people. Erik was pathetically grateful when I asked him if he would prefer one of the ginger ales that had been in the fridge. But I remember being there. Smallest things in the face of no power go a long way.

Now just to hope that tonight's storms don't take me out. A little nervous about that given the flicker last night, though that was probably the rest of the grid around me blowing.

Turns out the weather phenomenon we had has a name: derecho.

I am incredibly grateful that I haven't been in a blackout in superhot weather.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I am incredibly grateful that I haven't been in a blackout in superhot weather.

Me, too! Of course, if we got a blackout here it wouldn't make much difference since hardly anyone has A/C.

I spent the morning with my folks, and then went to the gym, so I didn't eat lunch, and finally got home at around 4, and I was starving and I took a shower and ate and then flopped and totally forgot to go to the dry-cleaners and pick up my clothes. And they're only open 8-6 on weekdays, so I will have to leave work early tomorrow to get my clothes. I hate that!

And now it's nearly 7 and I'm not eating dinner yet since I had lunch at 4. And there are people screaming outside. Sigh.

And I'm watching more of The Unusuals, which is really entertaining. It's fun to see Amber Tamblyn play a cop. With Jeremy Renner, no less.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I just did something completely stupid. I just baked a pan of brownies and I'm the only one home tonight.

I think I took hermiting to a new high/low today. The couple of times other people were home today, I was in my room either asleep or pretending to be asleep.
