Isn't a teacup-grip, with the body positioned at a diagonal, to provide the least amount of target to shoot at, generally the accepted beginner shooting position, with a handgun at least?
That sideways, gangsta-shooting position always makes me scream at the screen, "DUMBASS! You don't shoot to look cool; you shoot to hit your friggin' TARGET!"
It's not a big deal to correct...people with good gun handling reflexes are cooler and sexier than the whole rest of the world. Trufax. I did a survey of the lurkers in email.
Testify.
The weather is insano. I went into the Japanese grocery store and it was 104. I shopped for maybe 40 minutes. Came outside, it was totally storming (and got my car a little wet because I had the windows down a bit) and 76. Dropped 30 degrees in a little more than a half an hour.
The SO is on his first pre-tour tour date. So, Dana, I understand your impulses. I told him specifically, I am not going to worry about what you have or don't have with you. You're on your own. But then I ran down the checklist before he left anyway. So apparently I can't give that up. But I seriously need to not treat it like he can't function without me. Sure he will forget things and likely leave clothing all over the midwest, but that is not on me to be concerned with.
Our local SWAT team got thrown out of a police shooting competition for doing that gangsta-shooting thing on the range. These are the guys I can outshoot up at the range in the mountains. I feel safe.
I hear (metaphorically) a lot of bitching that teacup is not good, even for beginners. It's been so long since my lessons that I couldn't tell you what those guys were recommending.
There are apparently better ways to brace for recoil and be nicely set up for your next shot.
I hope all of you people dealing with extreme weather.
Just back from the F2F BBQ. Noah is exhaustamapated and Grace is... well, trying to turn the TV on while she has her breathing treatment.
I took N&G and another 4 year old to the zoo this AM. Friday is field trip day for the local summer camps (of course). Lori came over with her kids and her sister so my two ran wild. The kids are exhausted and I am too.
I vow that tomorrow I will unpack 10 boxes.
Lori came over with her kids
So I'm thinking there's part of the story that I don't know...
Yeah, I just did a BLINK at that same moment!
lori's partner has kids too. Who totally dote on and love N&G!
Indeed.
ION, I am watching episode 2 of The Unusuals. Why didn't this show succeed? It has humor and hotness and lots of quirkyness.
... possibly that's why it didn't succeed. Sigh.
