Happy birthday, David!
You could tell them no. My dad was the first person I knew who did that. They tried to raise the rent, and he refused. Of course, he was willing to move.
If the building isn't too popular, try negotiating. Can't hurt.
Interesting -- you're right that it can't hurt. I can't figure out their master plan here -- they are doing short-term furnished rentals, but I have no idea how successfully, and they could just kick me out entirely, due to the no-lease issue. Meh.
I got about halfway through the first row on the color test and decided I don't care how good my vision is. Also the colors look completely different depending on which monitor I'm using.
Happy Birthday, Hec!
I couldn't make the colors move on my iPad, so I stopped. I'll try on the laptop later.
I have tomorrow off, yay.
Cash, that was awesome to read. Been thinking about you.
Happy birthday Hec!
Jesse, maybe you can be like Bartleby the Scrivener and just say you prefer not to.
The Supreme Court is likely to hand down the health care decisions today (there are four; no one knows if they will write one opinion or four). SCOTUSblog will start live blogging from the court at 8:45, the court comes in at 10 a.m., and all the decisions will be announced (probably) by 10:30, and everyone seems to believe that the Chief Justice will write health care, so it will be announced last. They have a "plain English" summary here of the four questions to be decided: [link]
Happy birthday, David! Here, please enjoy this rescued baby bat with the hiccups.
Happy birthday, David!
That's great about your mom, Cash!
I couldn't fall asleep and then finally did and woke up screaming, loudly, a little while later. UGH! Then I had to get up and look around the house to make sure nobody really had broken in to hover over me (what I was dreaming that made me scream) and worry about scaring my neighbors. Then, of course, it took forever to get back to sleep. I don't have to be anywhere until a meeting at 10 today so that's something but I have a lot of thinky work to do today and I am oh my god so brain dead and tired. meh.
I did just make myself a delicious breakfast of really good corn tortillas and market egg, avocado, and a little xsharp cheddar. And greek yogurt with cut up market peach! yum.
Eek, lisah! I'm glad no one was actually hovering? And at least you had a good breakfast...
Jesse, maybe you can be like Bartleby the Scrivener and just say you prefer not to.
I WOULD prefer not to! Just a warning, you guys: Assuming I do move, prepare for endless whining from me, worse than anyone with actual moving challenges! I hate it so much.
