Burrell, have you gotten to the Sorting Hat in Pottermore? I finally broke down and signed up. I have told myself that now that I've been Sorted (Slytherin!), I am not going to spend a lot of time playing. Let's see if I can keep to that.
Not to mention of course that Romney gave a speech in January where he said that women with kids on welfare should work - gives them pride or some horseshit.
In that context, how would he characterize his wife?
I finally broke down and signed up.
Same here! The Sorting Hat gave me two options to choose from at the end - Slytherin and Hufflepuff. That's an odd combo.
It is comforting that it's so easy to counter Christian conservatives with Jesus.
I honestly believe that a lot of the bullshit we're seeing from those 'Christian' conservatives is what the second commandment really meant about talking the lord's name in vain.
I think the "conservative" Christians need to sit down and watch Godspell!
Seriously, I am not Christian, and I have worked on Godspell twice, and now I have serious guilt if I refuse to give money to people at the bus stop who ask me. I almost always give unless I seriously do not have cash with me (which actually happens a lot). I am not rich at all, but even giving $1 every time someone asks, it is not more than $10 a month.
Once again, Ginger sums up what I've been trying to say. Granted, I've been saying it in 120-character bursts on Twitter.

"the dignity of work", I believe was the hard-working Mr. Romney's phrase.
Sorting Hat put me in Ravenclaw. I knew that. Put my BFF in Hufflepuff. We knew that. She was sad that she is such a Hufflepuff. She said, "Hufflepuffs are always the sidekicks!" I said, "You're no sidekick! You're the one has survived no less than three incidents that totally should have killed you, and you walked away without even an injury like Wolverine. You are clearly the hero!" It's true, too.
Also, yes stay-at-home Moms work hard, but do they work any harder than Moms who take care of kids AND have paying jobs besides?
I mean, yes, men with kids do work hard, but do they work any harder than men with kids AND jobs?
Why is it even remotely acceptable to ask this question in the first place? What possible purpose does it serve other than to make sure that no choice a woman makes can ever be the right one?
Stay at home with your kids? Lazy, why don't you get a job? Work outside the home? Selfish, how can you let someone else raise your kids? Don't have kids at all? Slut, why aren't you married yet? Have too many kids? Stupid bitch, don't you know about birth control?
Ann Romney doesn't know how many horses she owns - THIS is a relevant point to make when she's trying to paint herself as someone who speaks for working class Americans. Not her choices as a mother.
And Jessica nails it.
I'd have ended that with /rant, but let's be honest that tag doesn't close.

Yes. Thanks for articulating that. Your rants are much more coherent than mine!
