Natter 70: Hookers and Blow
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
That sounds awesome...except for the part right before that where you said something about our generation approaching middle age. I dont' like that part.
It was a callback! But also true -- the Boomers are finally going to get out of the way.
We have a new showerhead. Made out of metal. Possibly adamantium.
Congratulations, le nubian! New job totally sounds like the way to go.
lisah, that dinner sounds amazing! And you've reminded me that we have fresh farmer's market strawberries that M picked up this morning. I know what I'm having for dessert!
We have Targeted, and got enough store credit to order a changing pad and a white noise machine. The Babies R Us returns/gift cards ought to get us a second car seat base. And I think we can actually return the stuff we don't have receipts for to Walmart, and get store credit, which we will probably use for diapers. That's almost everything on our registry! Phew.

Technically, chrome-plated brass. But compared to chrome-painted plastic, close enough.
I also vacuumed the living room, organized the art supplies and some of the toys, wiped down the blinds and the wall heater, and swept the hallway and kitchen. But, mostly, installed the new showerhead. BOW DOWN.
And, because it's important enough to warrant its own post, congratulations on the offer, le n! And absolutely, absolutely take it.
Oooh, I wonder if there are strawberries at our local farmers' market yet. I'd be really surprised if there were, but we were planning on going there tomorrow anyway ...
le nubian, your answer seems clear. Sometimes putting the words down does that.
Did you get the asparagus from the hippy/redneck/Viking guys sort of at the top of the T, lisah? I swear, their skinny asparagus is the best of all the vendors. Plus, they are such characters! Once they come in, I've also found their strawberries really good.
I also had asparagus for dinner. Browned garlic in a little olive oil, let the asparagus just start to brown on high heat, dumped a tiny bit of water in and let steam to the perfect crispness.
Alas, that was all I had for dinner as I don't dare try anything else. I can deal with straight up veggies. Anything else is off the list. My intestines were in full inexplicable revolt today. Nothing disgusting, except how I felt. As if I were digesting steel wool. Could be a variety of things, but I'm not putting anything more in me tonight.
Doneness check: market, pedicure, Target for cat stuff and travel crap, cleaning, laundry, swim, manicure, dinner. And now I need to get a bin for Pumpkin's food because Loki ripped the new bag open while I was cleaning. WHY, CAT.
Tomorrow: TJs for the week and plane snacks, Bloodbath for more soda mix, possibly look at shoes (don't even) and anything else I can think of, swim, hairdying, prelim packing list and attendant freakout.
le n., congrats, and yes! to what everyone else said already: take the money job and run!
Congrats on the new job le n! Esp as it seems new job is the way to go.
So full. We had chilaquiles for dinner as I am so prone to fall into a habit when it comes to food, and the kids will always eat it. Since Franny is having a sleepover, we'll probably go out for ice cream in a little bit. So much for full, eh?
