Timelies all!
Trying to figure why I suddenly am feeling stressed. Nothing happened today. (Actually, that may be the problem, as I've been waiting for a person I interviewed with June 1 to let me know her decision. That plus the Fed Ex guys having not shown up to pick up my package by the time I left at 4:15. They said between 9:30 am and 5 pm, but I was hoping for closer to the former)
I have to admit the Deviled Eggs Parade sounds fun, but when it comes to it, any party where the theme is basically 'bring an appetizer and a cocktail" is going to be a winner.
I should be working in the backyard weeding the garden. For some UNKNOWN reason I can't be arsed to start.
Frank, let us know if there's anything anyone can do. Many of us have been through those wars too.
They don't want to use my portacath for the nerve block. Bunch of bullshit. They could have already accessed me, with no pain, but instead they're scrubbing and poking my dehydrated arm (nothing to drink for over twelve hours...). But apparently no one in the building (ambulatory surgery) is certified.
God, I miss my ER nurses.
No one there is certified to use your portacath, but starting a new IV is fine? That's complete bullshit.
Utter bullshit. I smite them for you, ita !.
On the gimlet tip, I had a The Last Word recently, which was really really good. Apparently I only drink gin drinks now, although I would still tell you I don't really like gin.
Last Words are good, as are the variations (Ultima Palabra - tequila, Final Word - bourbon). If you're in a gin mood, and are at a cocktail bar, ask them for a Casino:
2 oz gin
1/2 oz Luxardo (maraschino liqueur)
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
2 dashes orange bitters (Regan's for preference)
1 brandied or Luxardo cherry for garnish
Shake, double-strain, garnish with cherry
It seems kinda inverse, doesn't it? In terms of difficulty a fresh IV is definitely harder, but they're all scared of giving me a blood infection.
Which, thank you, but surely a bit of training and extra cleaning up would be useful...
They found an oncology nurse. The IV idea was totes not gonna work.
Getting a vein at that point would have been impossible, I bet. Ugh.
Oh, and not gin, but I found a recipe for Dark and Stormy popsicles that I have to try once I find a popsicle mold.
Sure thing, "Brenda". It's here.
I just realized I bought regular apricots. Oh well.
