Lee, I would love a volunteer. It will take me a while to decide on layout/styling (god, what I have now is BORING), but that would be helpful.
That showed me. I was a tad disappointed that I'd gotten the same non-chatty nurse for the third weekend in a row, but I'm going to lay off the judgemental shit right now. Doctor came in to tell her to give me 3 of dilaudid instead of four, and Homeslice McQuietpants, RN told the doc it was too late, she'd already given it to me. Which, considering I always ask for that to be last in sequence, was not true. Once he'd left she muttered under her breath, and when it came to the dilaudid part of the regimen, her tone was very pointed as she told me not just what I was getting, but how much.
And then she left and came back with a handful of Graham crackers and juice, before fetching me a warmed blanket without me asking for it.
So nice of her. Let me have a sip of apple juice in her honour.
I told nut shot guy that it was his life and his anus, to do with whatever he deems honourable, but did ask outright that if it was what stood between him and sexual violation, would he just lay back and think of England. And then I called him a romantic as I signed off.
Hey, I at least skipped the p-word. I could totes work out how to slip that in and kill the "discussion" deader than the legitimacy of the MRA's claims. Hitler for a new generation.
Went out and ran (and walked and ran and then did a whole lotta walking) for the first time in years. Now I have a few aches and sore spots, but nothing unexpected. I have to admit, part of my impetus was getting use to running again so I can try out my new Run Zombies Run app without tripping over my own feet.
I'm glad your nurse had your back, ita.
Edited because impetus does not equal emotes. WTF, autocorrect?
Happy birthday, Cass!
Homeslice McQuietpants, RN
Hee. I'm glad she's good.
Thank you, Nurse McQuitepants.
Happy birthday, Cass!
There's a dog loose outside who clearly belongs to people. I hate that because I always imagine the owners' state of mind. It's black and white, but built like a greyhound. It runs about four times as fast as I do.
Happy birthday, Cass!
The ER process has someone come from Registration in order for you to sign those relevant permission documents, and they time it so that it's after the doctor has seen you for the first time. I was a bit lacking in gruntle, since they were clearly discharging me and they hadn't done this yet. I'm remarkably able to walk straight past Registration without remembering to go in and pay.
But, just at the last minute, the lady came with the forms, etc. She commented on how I was "always her patient" (it's been at least three weeks in a row), and the nurse called out that she too was seeing me for the third consecutive time. And then she even warmed up a bit and asked me more about how I cope with the pain on a daily basis, and they both left saying they'd see me next week.
Which is ridiculously sweet. I'm glad of them.
I'm so glad you found people to be glad of, ita !
I will gladly do research, but not until Wednesday, since I am heading out for the Reno part of my vacation now.
