Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2011: Maybe the even years are better

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. 2011? Room for improvement. Srsly.

Our wings are not tired.

I say 50 is a reason to party. That birthday I spent failing rock climbing with Lori. 60 is just a couple years out so I have to make a plan.

Best wishes to Hubs. You both should have a much better '12.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

My big six-o is in ... five months ... huh ... time flies.

SNOOPY DANCE!!!! I got my Secret Santa box from none other than our lovely Perkins. I'm torturing the kids right now by not opening all the goodies, cause it is fun to torture them. Not sure how long it will be before I am torturing myself.

I put my box in the mail and I just realized I didn't put my name in the box. I had a card all ready to put in there and then something shiny distracted me.

eta - geeze, I do know how to spell. Was too excited.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm just sorry I couldn't kidnap you again.

It would be more of a challenge now. K-Bug still loves that she was an accomplice in that gift. She says HI!!!

I actually thought about emailing her to see if we could work something out this year too, but then I remembered what my life's been like lately (TOO BUSY) so I didn't.

Not like you are buying a house and moving before Christmas, or anything. Though, I'm always open to Buffista kidnapping.

I opened, I opened. And I done been spoiled rotten. Ok...there is an adorable reindeer stuffed animal, fantastic fuzzy green socks (LOVE green), my favorite TJ's maple cookies (nom, nom, nom) and a cozy green holiday blanket (so soft). Deep breath, not done yet.

There is not one, not two, not three, but four mini Fernet bottles!!!! Also from TJ's - Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Seeds (CJ wants to snag these), Dark Chocolate Tahitian Vanilla Caramels (sound fabulous), and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. I'm in dark chocolate heaven!

Oh, oh, oh, and the one I'm hiding from the kids - Chocolate truffle filled figs "We select the best Mediterranean figs, we stuff them with our truffle cream, we cover them with a thin layer of chocolate and then you get the most delightful experience".

Thank you, darling Perkins. THANK YOU!!! I'm going to have to exert some self control to prevent a chocolate coma.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Let's all get this for each other!
