Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2011: Maybe the even years are better

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. 2011? Room for improvement. Srsly.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Here's hoping that 2012 is better for everyone, even those that had good 2011s.

I know I could use some good things to happen.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

2011.

Well, it was a year, to be sure, and not exactly uneventful, between the cancer, and Perkins the cat, and the house, and other stuff. I'm glad it's over, but at the same time, I have to believe it is ending on a positive note, and putting me in a good position to have a better 2012.

It's certainly ending on a nice note too, watching Community with -t, with Perkins the Cat curled up next to me, months after he was supposed to be gone.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Happy New Year!!!!

This time last year, I was 40 weeks pregnant. In 4 days, I'll have a 1 year-old. So that's this year in a nutshell.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy new year, y'all!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

2011 was pretty good. Work started to move in the direction I wanted. I went to France with the local fangirl contingent (Dr Who and baguettes ftw!). My remaining family stayed reasonably healthy and I was pretty much done with the executrix work for Dad.

On the downside, I learned that I had an inner ear condition that put an end to my flying lessons--lessons I loved to distraction. So summer 2010-summer 2011 ended up being my year of flight, rather than the start of a longer hobby. Now I'm in the market for a new love. I'm not sure what 2012 will be the year of, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Goodbye 2011. Let the screen door pummel you.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Calli, if I didn't say so before, I am so sorry about the flying lessons. I'll echo your wish that 2012 brings you something new and fabulous to love.

Yeah, I don't think I knew about that -- so sorry.
