This girl at school? She told me that gelatin is made from ground-up cow's feet and that every time you eat Jell-O there's some cow out there limping around without any feet. But I told her that I'm sure the cow is dead before they cut its feet off, right?

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2011: Maybe the even years are better

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. 2011? Room for improvement. Srsly.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Hello new thread. I woke up when ND came to bed at 3am and now can't fall back asleep. Argh. Alarm goes off in two hours. Also, still relying on phone since Internet and cable have still not yet been restored. It's getting old.

Just like this year! Look, I'm on topic.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Hi, new thread!

This... was actually a pretty great year, now I look back over it. It kind of feels like my first year of being something like a grown-up. I had my anxiety under control, I got stuff published, I got my flea market business set up and made real steps towards opening a vintage store. And, to top it all off, I met a boy. So thanks, 2011. You were one of the good ones.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I've been wondering when this would show up. I picked up a mysterious package at the Post Office today. I'm not ready to open it quite yet, but soon.

This year has sucked for so many people that I'll be happy to see it gone.

I love Oct for the lurkers thread and Dec for this one.

And also, what msbelle said.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

The latter part of the year has been a really rough one for me personally, but on the bright side both my parents have enjoyed better health and no hospital stays all year, so I'm chalking it up as a net win.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Besides a long weekend in Portland that I enjoyed very much, nothing much happened this year. I think I need to change my life to something more interesting.

Oh, no, did I just say that? I didn't mean it! Calm boring life! That's what I want! No "interesting" shit!

Yikes, I hope I didn't just jinx myself.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Well, Zen threw herself on the interesting times grenade, so we should all be safer.

Thanks, Zen. Good taking one for the team.

Dear 2011,

You were horrible. There were some interesting bright spots, but those weren't enough to bring any light into this awful, wretched year. I have never wanted to get through the holiday season and to start the new year as much as I do now.

Dear 2012,

Please be better. Please.
