Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but gray.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I am trying to burn through my to-do list before I leave for my weekend. My desk is drowning in paper, and seriously, how much can I do in the next 22 minutes anyway?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Islam considers Jesus to be a prophet, don't they? Just not The Prophet?

I think that's right. Definitely great man, not Son of God. I imagine it's mostly Easter that would be an issue, really. I mean, the whole Son of God bit is pretty much the whole thing. (Although all I remember from my own Sunday school days is acting out Palm Sunday, so.)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Gold star, ita !

The pet insurance article was interesting but the claim that "the problem is there's probably nothing that could possibly happen to this cat that would cost $6,000" is either wickedly optimistic or they really are never planning on treating an illness.

I do know my parents need to pay the bills and then submit for reimbursement. They've not had any troubles though.

MwhahahahahhahAHAHAHAHAHA! wipes eyes AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHHHHHH!

Yeah, if I was feeling particularly masochistic, I'd add up Mister Kitty's decade of bills. Pretty sure I exceeded that. Probably $3k easily this past year alone (mostly due to having to use the Vet ER on several Sundays...) Ridiculous, but it was well worth it to me. eta: And I feel vindicated that all that was diabetes related and it wasn't the diabetes that finally was gonna kill him.

Don't. You. Dare. One, you'd do it again. Two, I don't want to feel peer pressure to do the same. Ridiculous amounts. But worth it.

call me jacki; zuisa is an internet nick from ancient times =)

Hello everyone! Many apologies for my scarcity; we have had problems with our satellite on the ship and so being online has become quite a luxury! But I'm ashore today in Hilo, Hawaii, and taking advantage of free wifi!

Things have been going pretty well - we have a new cruise director on board who I'm not a huge fan of, but otherwise things are fine! We had karaoke in the crew bar last night and apparently no one knew I could sing, so I kind of felt like a rockstar for a little while. There was also almost a boy in my life, but he just got switched to a shift where I'm lucky if I see him in passing once a week, so that has come to a screeching halt. Oh well! Making lots of friends, which is nice.

I bought Christmas decorations today! I'm very excited to deck my cabin out. I am not even the slightest bit religious but I absolutely adore Christmas.

Aww! I am sitting in a Starbucks and a passenger from the ship just came up and told me that I do a great job. I have people shouting at me so many hours a day that I love hearing nice things once in a while!!

I hope everything here is going well for people! I wish I had time to catch up on everything I've missed on the board, but alas. I will definitely be buying myself a ship Internet card for Christmas, so I will potentially be around a bit more for a little while. Have a great day!

I keep telling Devi, that as now-eldest at *gasp* 14, she's not allowed to get sick. EVER.

....yeah. We'll see how that goes.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You're like two ships that...oh, never mind. MAKE IT WORK, LADY.

I just called my mother to update her on the never-ending work saga, and ended up by bumming her out about one of the markedly disturbed branches of our family. But she cheered herself by saying it all obviously meant I needed to get married.

She's never met the segue she couldn't strongarm, that woman.
