I'm spending Black Friday at my parents' house, sorting pills. They have a pharmacy's worth of OTC and mail-order drugs in that place, stashed all over. So we're going to consolidate & inventory and possible dump a bunch of them. Not that it will stay organized...
I have run and had some breakfast and a cup of tea. In a few minutes I will drag myself off the couch and go up to my sister's place to make the stuffing and start prepping the turkey.

Conspiracy theorists are the sort that think sending a petition to the White House about aliens means anything, and then will immediate write off the response to the petition anyway, even though it might have been their petition in the first place.
My take is that conspiracy theorists take contradictory evidence as just more evidence of the conspiracy: they will not in fact evaluate contradictory claims on their own merit. You end up with conspiracies on top of conspiracies--turtles all the way down.
A true skeptic doesn't assume a conspiracy, and is willing to consider contradictory evidence.

And, boy, would a conspiracy theorist ever think I was biased! But my escape is tied in--if you are looking for the truth, then you're on the other team. It's a choice to identify.

Possibly. Honest skeptics and critical thinkers get labeled "conspiracy theorists" by those who would like to maintain the status quo. By denigrating those who disagree, they devalue them and their opinions. If someone calls themself a conspiracy theorist, though, all bets are off.

Hey question. We have an electronic ignition gas oven that does not light manually (or maybe it does but no one has figured out how.) It is currently on. If the power goes out, we can just the leave the oven and continue to safely use it. True?
