Lots of things make them feel persecuted. Persecution is what makes them special. That's why they persecute people, because they must defend themselves from persecution. (That's a fun logical knot to die stupid Mormons into.)
Well, isn't that in line with "the war against Christmas" and the "war on Christians"? People who've been in the majority for so long that any infringement on their position to accommodate others is persecution?
