Also OKCupid related--oddly, after months of no messages, I had three people email me recently. One was the now-canceled date, one was someone in Portland who I haven't responded to because I don't really want to TRY to meet someone far away, and then one is someone who emailed me the other day saying in a slightly awkward way that I was lovely and she liked my hair/eyes/etc.
And then she emailed me again today to say more. Um, OK, weird.
And then she emailed me again later today to say she'd be at the farmer's market (?) today if I was free and wanted to meet up.
Dude. I haven't even RESPONDED to your FIRST email. Don't send three. That's just weird and now I don't want to respond.
meara,
I kind of admire your sociability and seeming ability to have plans a, b, c lined up. if someone had canceled on me, I would be on my couch rocking back and forth humming to myself.
do not contact Fatal Attraction woman.
Oh, BTW, TBS is showing How the Grinch Stole Christmas tomorrow at 8. I plan to tape it and save it for later viewing. One year, I wanted to watch Christmas stuff in mid-December and couldn't find the stuff I wanted!
The kids just left and Noodle is demanding attention. Miss Kitty is still hiding and napping.
I really adore those kids but I'm so not ready to be a grandma. I know it will happen whether I'm ready or not, but hopefully not in the very near future.

WE HAVEN'T EVEN HAD THANKSGIVING YET!!!
What is this world coming to?
My mother just bought us a Yamaha P-95 (NICE digital piano). It's our Christmas present. She said, "If you let me buy it now I will pay for it; if you want to save it for Christmas I will pay half." How could I say no to that?
I am going to start learning, in hopes that that will make the kids want to learn. So far, this seems to be working. (Also, my mother can't find middle C. This boggles me. I only had 4 weeks of piano lessons when I was 6, but I do know how to find middle C.)

I had piano lessons from 2nd through 5th grade. I did not like it and hated practicing, etc etc. But I am very glad my parents made me take them, it was a solid musical foundation that I found valuable later on. Even if now, I don't think I could play a single thing on the piano. (ETA: I only wish they'd been so pushy about sports or something physical like dance or gymnastics!)
Watching the Voltaggio Brothers Thanksgiving special.
But I did go to the bank, get cash, spent time at the local bagel place (a chain) having breakfast(ish) and coffee and knitting. I also called my brother to ask about Thanksgiving and what my niece wants for her birthday and then I found the very anonymous looking envelope that my new bank card came in. I have been spending sometime updating pre-orders on Amazon with the new CC#, and doing same at other places I shop online. Oh so much fun.
I wish I knew how to play the piano. I had some random strings of lessons maybe in high school and/or college, but have never had regular access to a piano, so it never took.

It was already on once! The world is bananas.
FYI - I want the Voltaggio boys to cook my Thanksgiving dinner. You guys can make that happen, right?
