And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Since I'm not clicking on the famine baby link, I present as an alternative this image of a face in a testicular tumor. Completely worksafe. Pinky swear.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Yay on the job flea (much belated yay!)

Just need to go to Wegman's this afternoon to pick up supplies.

It is so funny to see other people talk about Wegman's! I am so used to being the only one here with one.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I love Wegman's! It totally makes up for not having a Whole Foods out here. It doesn't quite make up for not having a Trader Joe's, but it comes close.

I'm thinking about going to the farmers market for lunch tomorrow. It'll be before the game, and I know how to get there while avoiding all the places football people go, and half the people there will be Amish, so I figure it'll be safe. There's a food truck there that has a fabulous veggie burger and had a different flavor of vegan cupcake or muffin each week.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Planning to make my regular trip to the comic book shop today. Other than that, not much.

Something is wrong with the online gradebook program we use here. It said the average grade for my students on the midterm was 66.3. Then I added in a 53 for a student who took the exam late, and a 0 for a student who never bothered to come to the exam at all, and now it says the average is 67.8.

Hil- is this Blackboard? If so you may need to check the formula for the weighted total-- sometimes it is confusing because the instructors weight the tests by how many points they are giving for the test, and then it gets confusing.

If your grading program is Sakai-based (as it is for most CIC schools), there is a problem with the way that it treats missing values. The individual scores are fine, but not the summary statistics.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh man, I need to transfer funds into checking - I think. . . because my credit/debit card was rejected. But my bank's website is down for an upgrade. So I tried calling the bank's toll free number and get no joy. And then I realize that it's Veteran's Day so the bank is probably closed.

I think I may be screwed.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Flea, congrats, belatedly!

There is more but it's all trivial.

check the formula for the weighted total

Sakai systems have this problem too. You can end up with an average percentage correct of 180% because the program is guessing how you want to weight things.
