Our wings are not tired.

Nice, Suzi!

Glad you're safe, Connie.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Tonight's soup: onion, garlic, squash, bok choy, kale, white beans, chicken broth, and smoked turkey sausage.

Nom.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Someone last night asked about pet insurance and my parents use Pet Plan.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

So many things wrong with that, Hil. One, it's wrong that threats are being made. Two, it's wrong that McQueary should have been coaching that game in the first place.

While I know some people have been calling for Penn State to cancel the rest of their football season, I think that's going too far. I do, however, think that forfeiting this next game might not have been a bad idea.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

McQueary will not be coaching the game Saturday.

Right, after pressure from the Trustees and the Attorney General.

Just in from doing neighborhood patrol. They had us come in early, it was so quiet.

Also? New downspout installed today! Shiny white!

Plus fastest swim to date.

I don't. Tulane killed it's basketball program for two years for much lesser issues. The problem is institutional. The problem is that Penn State football is too fucking important. So important that you can put a price tag on what people will take in exchange for letting children get raped: $72 million dollars annually.

College football is already incredibly corrupt, with scandals all over the place. This is not an isolated incident of people afraid to buck an institution that dominates the economy of a whole region. There needs to be massive consequences for it to mean anything at all.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My sleep psych asked if I was gay. What's the polite way to say that "Since there is no sexual interest in either of us, and it's not bothering my sleep, my orientation is irrelevant."

Turns out her laser gaydar was set of by my stoicism and my love of the martial arts. Which totally aren't as hardcore as kickboxing.

Mmhmm.

This is totally now an inappropriate and kinda weird time to ask but what is a good youth, entry-level martial art? Some self-awareness, some eventual self-defense for a girl?

I swear, the topic came up at breakfast and you were the person I thought would have an answer and then I forgot until now.

Also what does sexual orientation have to do with sleep? I mean, unless it was a come-on. Then there's the hopeful orgasm side-effect.

Weird.
