Matt, been there, done that. It's hard as hell, but you did a totally smart, brave and self-aware thing. I'm vibing hard for you, and offering all the good thoughts and support I can. Peace and much coping-ma.
V. productive day for me, but now need to run to DARK garage and pack the remaining contents of sale for charity pick-up tomorrow before 7 am. Obvs I am NOT getting up at 6am to do, so must hustle ass out to do this NOW.
Oh Matt, so glad you checked in. Sending all kinds of ~ma your way.
Also sending ~ma to ita ! and Allyson. Wish I could will away the pain.
I was mildly productive today! Graded 2 papers, wrote a rec letter, met with 3 students to discuss their next papers, and met with a colleague to discuss the online journal.
JZ's been a sickapod all day. Drank her green death and slept in until noon. Had some broth and noodles, then tea w/ lemon & honey then back to bed.
Much ma to you Matt. I am glad you were able to get the help you needed.
Whew. I was a complete bully for my half of the meeting. Felt good.
It's raining, and supposed to rain tomorrow as well. Put thing on top of and under giant tarp, and hope like hell pick up still happens, because I do NOT want to haul all that shit back in the garage.
Damn, I suppose I should go out and snap a pic for the tax deduction; I'm going to claim $150, which is, IMO, conservative. That's not enough to ping IRS, yes? I don't want to put my shoes back on and brave the chill rain.
If you want disturbing comments sections, you have to go here. Pictures SFW, words NSM. My
God.
And, yes, I judge.
Can someone explain to me the origin of this whole "two thumbs" thing? I feel like I missed a meme.
This is how I feel about spoons. Or not having them.
ION, I am so tired. I actually like the falling back, but I have not slept well and I would really like to go to bed right now. I doubt the kids will comply, though.
The spoons thing is a blog post somewhere...but I have no idea where.
I dragged myself out of bed at 2pm, and decided I should eat something. I have plenty of food in the house but much of it would need to be cooked, so after some serious dithering of whether I felt up to putting on clothes, I thanked my stars TJ's is a block away and went there in search of easily made comfort food. And voila, they have Thanksgiving microwaveable sides already! I got stuffing (which I'm eating now, but not too impressed by sadly--not my One True Stuffing) and scalloped potatoes, and cauliflower au gratin. Mmm.
