Zoe: Is there any way I'm gonna get out of this with honor and dignity? Wash: You're pretty much down to ritual suicide, lambie-toes.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Relatedly, I met someone who owns a gay club in Seattle with a goth night. Have you guys been to Pony?

Huh? Noooo.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Allyson, would it be worth it to try some five minute writing sprints? What you do is, you set a timer for five minutes and keep your fingers moving on the keyboard. Do not allow yourself to STOP during. This isn't to write stuff to keep, it's just to get the fingers moving and words down on the paper. I've been surprised how much this has helped me, as if I was priming an engine.

My mom's "independent living community" is more like an ocean liner than a dorm, if ships came with cabins that had full-size kitchens and two bathrooms. They get a hot meal once a day as part of their living, but it's restaurant ambiance, with at least three entrees to choose from, waitrons, real china. Plus "on-campus" amenities like a library and game rooms and hobby clubs and classes on just about anything. Plus there's a doctor's office right there, and a dedicated staff of home health aides who will come in and offer assistance, which currently Mom is having to take. If you can get an elderly relative into one of the Erickson communities, move heaven and earth to do it -- they're worth every penny.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

If you can't write anything else spend 5 minutes writing over and over again "All work and no play makes Allyson a dull girl." I bet before the five minutes ends you are writing something else.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Every time I drive back from my parent's house, I amuse myself with all kinds of stuff, which includes lottery dreams for a Buffista Emergency Fund, a sprog summer camp, gratis, and also throwing a huge geek party with geeky celebs.

Also paying off loans and mortgages for me and fam, scholarship funds and TRAVEL AND ALL THE BOOKS AND SHOES.

I am philanthropic, yet shallow.

Thrive to spite them

Dawn, I know it's got to be the right decision for Grandma and the right time. I know that the aunt she lives with gets along with her fine and is happy with the living situation.

G'ma (Mom's mom) died last year and she had dementia for nearly a decade. Due to the dedication of another aunt G'ma was able to stay at home until it just needed round the clock care. And she did not want to go to assisted living either but once she got there she perked up a bit and did better.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Allyson, did you go back and read what you wrote here about the training? Maybe even try retyping it word for word and see if that triggers something.

I am philanthropic, yet shallow.

Darling, may I tag?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

she profoundly doesn't need someone coming in and germing up the joint.

This one, JZ!

These Toyota Yaris (It's a car!) commercials are brainwashing me. I want one!

Now tagless for your comfort.

When I told Owen he had to go to school this morning he responded, "Thomas Edison only went to school for three months. His teacher didn't like his many questions so his mom took him out of school."

*waves flag of surrender*

Too bad you can't tell him, "He was also a dick and nobody liked him." Which is true.

The good thing about DST is that right now I feel awake enough to leave for work. The bad thing is I'll be tired and ready to leave an hour before the "time" comes around, AND it will be dark. Le Sigh.
