I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I wish my parents would sell their place and move into an adult community situation. I mention it to them ALL THE TIME. They promised they would, but keep putting it off and not taking any steps towards making it a reality.

I am all about the free meal and looking at places to live! In a casual manner.

Now that my MIL is in assisted living we have a standing invite to have dinner with her. Although it'll be at 4:30 in the afternoon. Her assisted living facility does a "formal" dinner once a month, usually with lobster, filet mignon or prime rib, and always champagne. I keep thinking it would be rude of us to schedule dinner for those nights but still... prime rib and booze! Oh and her place has a tiki bar outside near the pool and during the summer they have margarita nights. I keep trying to talk the DH into going up for those.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I had been thinking of assisted living as being like college, but that is so much better!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Really? Isn't that the point of offering a formal dinner once a month? To encourage family to come too.

A friend's mother is in an assisted living place where you have to prepay for X number of meals a month. Sometimes at the end of the month, it's steaks all around.

It is like college! She goes to class every day, they do crafts and go to the gym, and they have movie night every night. On Saturday's they have a tea and finger sandwiches, and usually have live music and dancing! In fact, she likes it so much she doesn't want to bother with Thanksgiving with us, she'd rather have dinner there (we = chopped liver)

Probably! I hadn't thought of it like that.

Living. The. Dream.

Aw! That might take it a little far....

I keep telling my husband that we are soooo moving in there. The rooms are nice, they have kitchenettes, and if you miss a meal, there's always sandwiches and cookies in the game room. AND they all have a killer view of the LA basin. I'm so there!

They have a library and a concierge.
