All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Meara, you need rest!

Ladies and gentlemen, my little sister.

Oh, dear.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Somebody congratulate me that I didn't further interact with the anti-vax mother-of-an-autistic-son on a friend's Facebook page? Even though she pulled out the "I've researched the cause of autism for all 17 years my son's been around" card, and I could have riposted that while I certainly hadn't spent that much time, there are medical researchers whose job it is to, you know, actually do things like, oh, CRUNCH NUMBERS and DO BRAIN RESEARCH and stuff like that.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Big pharma pays their paycheques, Theo. Nobody pays her. She's only doing it for the good of the kids.

I'm also refraining from asking her why, if autism tends to run in families, that MMR vaccines should have anything to do with it. Or that the worldwide rise in autism rates only happened several decades after the MMR vaccine became a routine childhood immunization -- which you would suppose, it would have caused the rise immediately, and only in countries where the vaccine was given.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

"I realize that you're far too emotionally invested in this to understand that you've reached an incorrect conclusion. However, your incorrect conclusion will result in the deaths of thousands of children and the infirm, so as much sympathy as I have with your dissonance, I have to keep telling you that you're incorrect, and dangerously so."

That's what I'd do, then make popcorn and watch the head explosion. But that is because I'm a dick. So I congratulate you on not being a dick.

Thrive to spite them

Theo there will always be some weird end around that has nothing to do with logic that people will bring up. I read something like - parents who got the MMR vaccine can pass autism on to their children because the MMR vaccine changes (things, cells, something I don't know some kind of handwavium) that shows up in the children. And/or it's dormant until the children receive the MMR vaccine which then triggers autism in the child.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I wish I were more of a dick, and I wish I were less of a dick.

If I didn't love my tagline so much, this would totally be my new one.

If there's such a thing as karma, I'm at a severe deficit due to much dickishness.
