I read that comeback link a few days ago, and there were som really great ones...
Natter 69: Practically names itself.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I spent much of yesterday with my oldest friend in the world (we met in 7th grade when I saw her reading Dune Messiah in home ec class), who was in town for the week for work. We wandered along the Embarcadero and then went to Oakland where she met my dog and saw my house, and I gave her a bunch of audiobooks to listen to with her kids. And then we had a great dinner and I took her to the airport.
The best thing is that she'll be back once or twice a year for the foreseeable future, because of the work gig. This is marvelous: she's never been much of a traveler and I don't get back east much anymore, although I saw her (and her baby goats! so cute!) in May.
Apparently we had an earthquake yesterday afternoon when we were walking, and I didn't notice it at all.
ita, I like that you said when you get better. Because I'm sure you will. Also sending good thoughts for your mom.
Actually, while I haven't gone completely GF, my fibro flareups have been fewer and less nasty since I cut wheat from my diet. Nasty, arthritis-like pain is one of the main symptoms, and I haven't had that for a while.
My doc is gently trying to convince me to go GF, because it helps with either the symptoms of the Lyme, or the symptoms of one of the co-infections. (I don't remember which, just that GF is supposed to help. I need to start taking notes at my appointments.)
this has some ludicrously clockwork precision choreographed moves starting about 1:30 in. Ridonk, mates.
I had to look up where they were for the last part of that [link] because with all of them in front of it, I really thought that was an ice axe under the name.
I was just excited I could tell they were in Mexico...
I just winterized my bed (flannel sheets, electric blanket) even though now I see it's going to be warm again this week! Oh well.
My mother was utterly flabbergasted when I told her how long I'd been in the ER this morning, and that I wasn't out of sorts about that, and that the nurse asked if I wanted to hang out for a while longer. I'm taking them in my stride, but that sure doesn't mean I don't want to get of the ride.
Neat video, ita!
Seven bags of leaves, DONE. Yeah, there are leaves falling, still, but at least this way my lawn won't be plastered with quite as many wet leaves when the rain hits this afternoon.
Good for you, Anne! The SO went out to work on clearing his buddy's land (pine needles, not leaves) but it was still snow covered. I'm okay with that and he and the dog are now hanging out watching tv and waiting for a) non-turkey turkey tetrazzini and b) apple butter. It is a very winter foods type day.
Once there was a girl who got pulled over and, when the cop asked her if she knew why he had pulled her over, she joked, "Because of the body in my trunk?"
The cop was less than amused. "Ma'am, could you please open your trunk for me?"
She got off with a warning and a lot of dirty looks.
Ladies and gentlemen, my little sister.
ita, I'm a bit fuzzy on the details, but I think I remember Dave Zabriskie (pro cyclist) going gluten-free. Part of the reasoning behind it was that, for distance cyclists, there is a lot of muscle repair each night and the gluten supposedly slowed down the healing by causing inflammation. I'm going to look and see if I can find something about it, but that was the general idea.
