Spike: I'm not a monster. Xander: Yes! You are a monster. Vampires are monsters! They make monster movies about them! Spike: Well, yeah. Got me there.

I've had both Vicks and Venta break on me after one season.

Which Venta? The airwasher or the ultrasonic one? I've had an airwasher for years and it's still fine. I don't run it as often as I used to; I guess I adjusted eventually, but I definitely used it all winter for the first few years in my place. And when I didn't need it a friend borrowed it for a while because it helped her allergies.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Which Venta? The airwasher or the ultrasonic one?

Both! The airwasher never did jack shit for the humidity level in any room I tried it in. The ultrasonic one crapped out on me last night, though according to DH it was working again this morning so we may be ok.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I have a special large teakettle that is safe to boil dry that I keep on the woodstove all the time. Double effect in that I can have hot tea or coffee at any hour all winter.

But for the bedroom, yeah, I buy a humidifier and it breaks every year. I just finally gave up and tossed the last two that were sitting in my closet during this past fall's junk drive. They weren't even recyclable plastic! I dunno. There's gotta be a better way.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A masked teen who took to the streets Tuesday night to pay homage to his favorite hip hop dance group was mistaken for a mime and asked by police to leave because “some residents apparently find mimes disconcerting,” according to police reports.

It’s hard out there for a mime

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I went to Powell's! But I was scared to really get into it, since I didn't have THAT much time, so I basically ran in and out.

I hope you got to visit at least two colors. Mmmm, I love Powell's.

I wonder if I can sell them some of the books I am getting rid of and use that as an excuse to spend some quality time in Ancient Civ.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's getting cold and rainy here. I'm making a hot and sour albondigas (meatballs) soup for lunch.

I've decided that Trader Joe's turkey meatballs are the third or fourth most versatile protein in the world. The food truck have inspired me to make meatball tacos on a regular basis. (They're really good with baby spinach and hot sauce on a cheese taco torilla.)

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Did clocks fall back recently? I'm running out of not-self-maintaining timepieces that I actually bother changing. But I would like to stay up to date on this stuff.
