"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

amy,

I did not watch the keynote, perhaps I will get around to it, but judging from a source that I consider even-handed, Tim Cook spent about 2-3x the amount of time on showing stats about stores, number of phones sold, etc. that previous keynotes have had.

So I really do think there were some pacing issues with the keynote that probably left people with an overall negative impression.

I am not sure if I had any expectations for the keynote and/or products being offered, so I was neither impressed nor disappointed with the announcements. However, I am less than thrilled that Apple has decided to remove the Siri service from all models except the new one starting on October 15th. I use Siri several times a month/week. I can cobble some things together using the Dragon apps, but it isn't like Siri.

My SIL is having a shit week. 3 days down with a plague, then 32 hours of work in 3 days and her cat is dying slowly.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

I'm horribly sad about Steve Jobs. I still have my first apple computer. It's beige and weighs 4000 pounds. If I plug it in, it still works.

Man, I take a nap after work and wake up to find that Steve Jobs died. Part of me really expected my Macbook Pro to have secret programming that would be triggered to make my computer display a sad face.

I don't know if I'm fighting a cold or what, but I laid down at 7:30 to take a nap and Tim woke me up at 9 to see if I wanted food, and I said yes, pulled on some pants...and then decided to just put my head back down for a minute. He woke me up again just now. I dragged my ass out of bed for some food and then I'm headed right back. I guess I just need the extra sleep.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Part of me really expected my Macbook Pro to have secret programming that would be triggered to make my computer display a sad face

Like the old sad Mac icon.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I know I'll be taking some anti-anxiety meds before and will be blasting my ipod during.

My dentist has this great system so you can listen to Pandora on a headset while getting work done. SO AWESOME!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Like the old sad Mac icon.

I miss the original icons from the first Mac.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Sad Mac Icon

Or this one?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Aw, that first one looks like my first computer! Mac Classic.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yeah, the original black and white is the saddest of sad Macs.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

ita, positive vibes for your mom and family.

One of my first lighting designs was programmed on an Apple IIe.

So who's wearing boots? Hmm?

I am! But not the purple ones. Those should be here in the next day or so.
