Then on Sunday, I was at the flea market all day and was texting back and forth with him, and I mentioned that my feet were cold because I'd worn inadequate shoes.
What is it with you and footwear?
Well, about an hour before the market ended he showed up out of the blue with flowers and socks. It was really adorable. We're going out again on Saturday.
You know, that kind of thoughtfulness is how sj wound up with Teacup Guy. Good job Mr. Flowersocks.
Steph, most of what you need is probably at the launch pad. It'll take some getting used to, but I think overall it'll be a win.
Mostly I'm just reading the e-mails now (in one big daily digest, because I would flip out like a mammal if I had that many individual e-mails in my box), but I like to be able to check the site for some stuff. Objectively, the redesign looks cleaner, but I just hate change.

Socks = WIN. The flowers just put it over the top. That's awesome!
Whatevs.
Aw, Holli, adorable.
I've been staring at this for the last fifteen minutes. It's cool, but way too white, for one reason or another.
The Ross near me just moved into the space up the road that the Borders vacated. Oops?
What is it with you and footwear?
Holli is the excellent person who let me wear her shoes to walk back to the hotel from dinner at the DC F2F because my shoes were poorly chosen and painful. So I think she has a *great* track record with footwear. But I do have a bias.

Aww, this made me smile. It's been nearly 7 years!
Holli, he sounds like a keeper.
Whyyyyyy did none of you warn me that the TJs dark chocolate bar with caramel and black salt was this crackalicious? Whyyyyy?
Hee -- I got this for D before I left for Detroit. He let me have a taste, and it was nom! And like Tep, I don't much like dark chocolate. Toss salt on it (AHEM TJ's dark choc almond w salt) and I'm a goner.
Mr. Flowersocks, sobriquet has been had! Sounds nice, Holli! Have fun.
A giant biker squirrel took interest in my sister at the Halloween party Saturday. He's a really nice guy, with thumbs-up from 2 of my closest girlfriends, so I'm trying to persuade her to meet him when he's NOT in the giant squirrel costume...personally, I feel that any guy who sports a 4 foot tail, and hand-makes giant acorns as testicles for his costume get a plus for hilarity.
Just received this email from Matilda's elementary shcool (which is very committed to environmentalism):

Dear Grattan Community
You are receiving this email today to announce what we hope will be a long term relationship with City Bees. Robert MacKimmie of City Bees recently visited our school and stated about our rooftop location, “This is the best real estate for my bees in the city.” City Bees started in 1996 with its long-term goals being:
Assist threatened bee populations against recent health challenges. Pollinate regionally by disseminating local bee populations. Enhance lives by providing colony co-habitation in city backyard gardens. Create unique and distinctive honeys from select neighborhoods and historic locations in San Francisco and the Bay Area.
Having City Bees’ hives on our rooftop would be an exciting and wonderful learning opportunity for our students, help expand our greening program and strengthen our commitment as a community to a healthy environment. City Bees maintains the hives and as a “rental fee” for the use of the roof, we get jars of some fabulous honey!
Holli, I love that story! Yay, Mr. Flowersocks!
Whatevs.
Aw, Spinderella, I love you too.
City bees!
Yay for Vintage!Boy and flowers and socks.
