Thrive to spite them

I used some pet steps from the drug store for Anna (a cat) and she used them quite a bit once she got the hang of it.

The status is NOT quo.

Cass, we've used pet steps for Byron since he lost his leg three years ago. They work great. They're just the small four step version you find an Petco. B is still hanging in, btw. I know his time is approaching, but his quality of life is still good for now.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

We used a cooler so TC could get up to the cabinet from which he accessed his window hammock. Worked like a treat. Tried for years to find something the same height that was, you know, more attractive that worked in the bathroom. Nothing seemed to work. AFAIK the cooler's still beside the tub. Also? Dumb three-leggity beastie never used it on the way down. That's right, boy, break the other leg. You'll be in *fine* shape, then. Learn to walk on both front feet. We'll put you in the circus.

Sorry. Caught it from H, who used to tell him, "Stop limping! You're just playing on it for sympathy!"

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Aw, I am glad to hear it. I think of him whenever I see your pixels. ("Pix"-els?)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Thanks! It's clear the Kittenish can't just breeze up onto my bed like she used to and even having a stool or chair nearby isn't a real answer. Steps it shall be. She's seventeen and keeping weight on her is way more important than how high she can jump.

I am glad that Byron is still enjoying life and ruling his world. He's an amazing cat and I like him so much.

It's odd, when I was wee, my grandma had this crazy high bed that had a stepstool but I never realized it was a real, happens all over thing until much, much later. probably my bed currently is higher than her bed of my memories.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Realized the best way to keep the dog from freaking over the wind: give her a yummy yummy bone from the freezer. She's now completely happy despite the wind whistling & howling.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww, poor happy doggie. Seabiscuit's trauma today was the long-awaited arrival of the propane truck. It was not repulsed after initial efforts like the garbage truck or the delivery man. And it did not provide him treats like the Schwans man. But, he persisted, and after grave exertion on his part, he did manage to make it go away.

And then? Later the VERY SAME DAY? The firewood truck arrived. Will these intrusions never end?

However, the SO & I are happy because we will now be warm for the winter! Or at least, a good portion of the winter.

In other news, those of you who have been resistant to flylady because of the awful, awful site design should check it out again. She has had a major redesign, and while it's still pretty cluttered, I think it's much more usable. (Even though I'm pretty sure "consistence" isn't a word.)
