Damn, the tavern/restaurant right across from my vet burned down yesterday morning. I am so out of it, totally missed the news.

Trust my rage

We had the best TorT ever. For those who have missed it, the kids and I are currently not living in our house due to the divorce. So I dressed the kids up and first we went to see two friends who were in Iraq with Joe. I wasn't sure how I would be received but they were both wonderful and supportive (with candy for the kids).

The.n we went to our neighborhood. My intent was to let Joe see them:the right thing to do. But he wasn't home. Instead, our cul de sac had an impromptu kid block party that started with everyone so happy to see us all. Ellie and Frisco ran around with all their friends, spread their candy out on the driveway in the dark, and just caught up and hung out. It was so cute to see and it made my heart feel good after two very difficult weeks.

information libertarian

I have got to figure out how to keep the cats from keeping me awake for 1-2 hours every night fighting. They like to do it next to my bed; if I shut the door, they do it outside the door, which still wakes me up. If I shut Older Cat up in any room, she hurts herself trying to get out (rubs the fur off her nose); if I shut Younger Cat up, he annoys the sleeping resident by prancing on the bed AND scratches at the door, damaging the door and waking me up. Any ideas? They have been co-residents for a year now; Older is 11 and Younger is 1.5; they are noisy fighters (growling and hissing and yowling) but don't actually harm each other.

Because books.

Shut them out of all the bedrooms?

Switch and Cortez sometimes come fight ON the bed. Good times.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We had a lot of trick-or-treaters last night -- we started out with a huge bowl of candy and ended up with only a few Tootsie Rolls and malted milk balls. The teenagers who wore no costumes but sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" were at least amusing. Almost made up for all the times I'd almost get up the stairs before the doorbell rang again. Special mention to the neighbor boy who dressed up as Jack Sparrow but didn't want to wear the hair. Ended up looking like a Revolutionary War Redcoat.

And Coco made a few appearances at the door as a black cat. Big hit with a couple of the kids. ("Look! A Halloween cat!")

Now tagless for your comfort.

Happy Birthday, Ginger!

Thanks, Cash. The insomnia fairy decided to give me a present, so I'm more gronk than festive at the moment.
