All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

My poor nephew. He's not quite 12 yrs old, but he's 5'10". I'll bet most people look at him and think he's too old for trick or treating.

I've never had kids come to my door in this apartment so I didn't even get just-in-case candy.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

It's not being teenagers per se that irritates me. It's being teenagers with no costumers who grab teen-sized handfuls.

Because books.

It's being teenagers with no costumers who grab teen-sized handfuls.

I drop candy into the bags, I don't offer the bowl. That way lies having to buy too much candy, and/or not having any left over.

I closed the door and shut off the porch light. It's 6 to 8 here, so I feel justified. And I'm tired now. The kids are picking through their loot and I'm practically ready for bed.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

The middle-schoolers seem to have the best costumes around here. Just had three girls in home-made Incredibles costumes--the fourth member of their group was dressed as Batgirl.

brillig

It's just getting dark here, I haven't heard any activity out on the streets. Hubby's up front to do candy duty. I've put together a small candle circle. A small chair from a miniature house setup is in the middle of it, for the comfort of whatever spirits care to visit.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Aww, man, the Pandora Halloween station I'm listening to just threw the BtVS theme at me! Kinda sniffly now!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

For Jilli and Pete: I'm sure you get this every Halloween, so this year I'm (probably one of many) linking you to this: [link] . It is the Joan Osborne version though.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I've only gotten a few Trick or Treaters, despite having an Official Orange Balloon. I watched Conversations With Dead People and opened mail; discovered a disconnect notice and paid my power bill. I have more bills I need to pay but now I'm depressed and tired and want to go to bed.
