If you feel you want to go home, then go. One of my biggest regrets regarding my dad is that I didn't want to make a big deal of it when he was diagnosed. I thought I had more time. Turns out I only had 4 weeks and I left town for part of that and just barely made it back in time before he died. I wish I had those 4 weeks back.

So, Ellen Degeneres had that woman from the cochlear implant video on her show, and Ellen got her surgery paid for, by the company that makes the unit or whatever. Which I kind of think is bullshit, because obviously they aren't going to be giving everyone free surgery. I dunno.

The media and my co-worker who has a lot of out-of-work actor friends down there. It's not what you'd call a well-organized protest.
(There are some concrete demands on the internet, but the way protests in NYC work is that a small core group decides what the point of the protest is going to be and prints out signs and organizes and gets the word out, and then everyone in the world with an axe to grind shows up and half the signs wind up being about anarchy and legalizing pot.)
