Oh, at first it was confusing. Just the idea of computers was like — whoa! I'm eleven hundred years old! I had trouble adjusting to the idea of Lutherans.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Really nice out here, sunny and calm. Which is good because I'm down art the dock waiting for some guy to help take my dad's boat out. They agreed to meet up "not before 11" so we could be here awhile.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It's definitely snowing here now, and starting to accumulate. This is so weird for October. I can remember snow before Halloween once or twice before, but always just flurries, never like this.

Thanks Amy. I had considered making cookies with the three year old but Little Miss is way too active and I'm out of practice cooking one handed.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm skating in a roller derby mixer tonight. Wish the Witches luck! I'm wearing these.

hip deep in pie

My sister's household has three cats and a dog. Two of the cats fight, and every time they do it loudly enough for the dog to notice, she rushes over and breaks it up. I've always wondered what's up with that. Is she just investigating? She does make them stop. It's pretty funny.

My coworker's dog does that every time her two cats fight. It makes me wonder if a dog could possibly be the solution to my cat strife. (I have read on sites about cat on cat aggression that bringing in a third can be the solution when there are only two cats.)

Guys, I am totally overwhelmed by my sisters showing up unexpectedly, and they aren't even staying with me. I should have tidied up and instead I spent an hour cleaning one shelf in my fridge. The place is a mess and I just really want to nap.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Cashmere, I love those so much!! Good luck.

Sue, maybe set a timer to keep you from spending too long on one task or room?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This photoshop is a bit disturbing, no lie.

No snow here!

I was saddened to learn that many commercial blueberry products just had apple bits with colouring and flavouring of some sort.

Smonster, just typing that seemed to set me off into panic tidying. I am furiously firing things into baskets, bins and closets and getting them out of the way. The kitchen...well that needs a good wipe down and mopping, but at least the dishes are done and most things put away.

Whoever designed the allegedly spillproof shelves in my fridge grossly underestimated my ability to forget things in the back of the fridge and spinach's ability to completely liquefy.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Man, this Doc Martens sale is killing me.

Thanks for the link, Liese. I'm sorry it's killing you, but I was desperate for a pair of boots for the winter, and Docs are the only thing that seem to consistently fit over my current leg braces.

This photoshop is a bit disturbing, no lie.

The effects of foot binding weren't all that different except for the heel.
