Those walks were murderous.
Those walks were murderous.
Yeah. That was sad. Not what you want to see in a game like this.
the chokingiest chokers to ever choke ON MY VOMIT!
Wow, msbelle watches baseball the way Stephen does!
I'm usually torn between whether I should hate the pitcher or hate the manager for not pulling him. Then I cover my eyes and moan. Except for when I'm yelling.
Ah, David Duchovny, you were such a hottie in the 90s. (I'm spending my Friday night watching my X-Files collection. I'm beginning a week's vacation, and it should be a lovely time watching DVDs and sleeping.)
MulderNScully, their love is so pure.

Thing is, both Larussa and Washington have been burning through their bullpens like they were a readily renewable resource. And as JZ noted, (when I said the pitchers were tired), "Well, it's almost November! That's a long baseball season!"
So, the pitchers have been over used and burned up. And when pitcher are tired they can't get on top of the pitch. Which is hard to describe unless you've pitched, but it's that extra bit of effort you need to exert to control what you're throwing at 95 mph.
This is what happens when you keep going to the bullpen in the fifth inning in the post-season, as both managers have done.
I didn't get the strategy of walking Freese in the 5th. They loaded the bases with the winning runs. And then the next unintentional walk tied the game. Why risk that?
Granted, I don't know much about baseball.
it was a shitty strategy, that's all you need to get.
