Free lunch
That reminds me--my bosses are doing what they can to pep us up during this transition. We all got free lunch vouchers for the cafeteria last week, and they announced at today's meeting that they're taking us out to a real restaurant for lunch in two weeks.
Oh shit, ita. God, I'm so sorry.
I'm sorry, ita.
My building at work is on what they call a "partial lock-down". They're expecting a pretty big protest soon.
Tom, can people working in your building leave? What makes it "partial"?
(Because if I worked there, I'd be headed for the door if I could.)
The building is completely surrounded with barricades, and there are only a couple of checkpoints you can enter or leave.

That sounds both good (barricades keep you safe!) and nervous-making (barricades keep you in!).
Cute Corgi!
Things that make me happy:
-- Getting to eat my lunch in the sun for a brief window before it clouds over again.
-- Listening to Terry Pratchett on audiobook
-- Having a bunch of fic and free books on my (new-to-me) Kindle.
-- Getting email from my niece in Spain.
