I happen to be very biteable, pal. I'm moist and delicious.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I think I pissed off a nurse by asking for more anti nausea meds.

You know how addicts are always trying to make off with the anti nausea drugs, ita.

Glad you got your pain cocktail at least.

Yeah, I'm not showing Matilda the Unicorn Cookbook.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I think I pissed off a nurse by asking for more anti nausea meds.

Would she rather you puked on her shoes? I expect it would make your head feel worse, though, so I won't suggest testing it. I'm glad you got your pain meds, anyway.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah, I'm glad that the doctors didn't balk at the first dose, even if they didn't want to give me another. I just...I couldn't fight that initial fight. The second fight, well, fine. Maybe one day they'll do what they're asked to by my doctors, and increase the chances of me feeling well. But I can't afford to make myself feel worse fighting that battle right now. I don't have it in me.

The first nurse was really nice. She said she'd email the head of the ER on my behalf, asking them to straighten out my regimen, and also said I might want to wait around until the doctors changed shifts to see if I could get a second dose from a new doctor.

It was her replacement who was all "Well, why do you want PO compazine then??" Uh, to complement the IV zofran, since those are apparently the only two anti emetics you have in the hospital?

Actually, there is another. Phenergan, I think. I just couldn't remember the name of it at the time. I'm not sure why I've only gotten that once. They act like they only work with compazine, reglan, and zofran. And only the latter available in IV. But I did have IM phenergan once, and I vaguely remember it being decently effective. I need to remember to ask.

One of the doctors said, when refusing me the second dose "Well, it doesn't cost anything to wait and see." I did actually say "Well, I'm in pain, though." out loud, because I couldn't believe she'd said that.

Ah, well.

Argh. I'm glad you got some treatment, at least, but still, grr.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, maybe it doesn't cost *her* anything. Sheesh.

Aww, cutie mini horses!

Man, today is just miserable out here. Wind's at about 50mph. Which has kicked up the pollen something awful. The SO dragged his tail into one of the local churches anyway to promote next week's concert they're putting on, but they cancelled announcement time since it's Palm Sunday. Even though he asked about that before setting up the announcement.

I was supposed to go in to meet him to go to the other church, but our allergies are both just too bad, so he's coming home now and we're going to tuck in where we can sniffle without disturbing anything and watch the Pens/Flyers.
