Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The research team was unable to find a more suitable way of getting the information required for this study other than to deceive

What? How the hell did that pass the review board?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, thank god my sister is going ballistic right now, because I want some company closer to the issue.

She's started doing her own research, and she can't find the person who's supposed to be in charge of this "study".

The letter does say that she can approve or deny them use of her emails (and recorded hour long coversation!) if she wants, but she's quite rightfully trying to work out who the fuck these people are.

The university they claim to be from is a religious one (7th Day Adventist), and she's wondering if that has anything to do with anything.

This email serves to inform you that you were part of a study undertaken by a group of MSc. Students at the Northern Caribbean University. The study is designed to test whether staff members at tertiary institutions across Jamaica engage in heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual relationships with students.

Hey, thanks for that heads up!

God, I'm pissed.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think this challenge is geared towards people with less awareness of how the bathroom issue effects people.

Unfortunately, I think most people who will take this up are people who are already aware of trans bathroom issues, so unless other cis people talk about whether or not they're going to the bathroom way more often than in my circle of friends, this is not going to work as an awareness campaign.

I don't know how any study like that gets through a research/ethics board.

Yeah, that seems really sketchy. How could you possibly publish the results of something like that?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

ita,

Here they would have been reported to the institutional review board. Perhaps not allowed to do research on Human Subjects for several months/years

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

She should be able to call the IRB at the institution if set up like US institutions.

FWIW this sounds like nefarious intent.

Oh HELL NO. So they were basically trying to set up a sting operation like the pedophile scams that pop up on every other episode of L&O?

There is little like my baby sister on an outraged rampage.

And she's got a head of steam up now.

I'm so proud of her right now, and a wee bit scared.
