Yay port removal!
Kat, being on bedrest with existing children is tough, and I only did it with a five-year-old in kindergarten half days for three weeks. Not that it's a reason *not* to have another child if you want to.
Jesse, my mom was out in WY when we had Ben, and that was part of the reason she came out -- we hadn't made any friends close enough I felt I could call them in the middle of the night to stay with Jake. And with Sara, we left Jake and Ben sleeping, with a note, and called my parents to come to the house as we were leaving for the hospital (Jake was eleven, and Ben was almost six).
Dog~ma for Miss Darby today, who is having her second knee surgery. The first one went really well and it's been very clear how much better off she is for having it. But still tough to go through, especially when it's so nice out! She had her first day of daycare yesterday and did great so I'm especially bummed that it'll be a while before she can go back.
I, uh, can't make it to the office today. I will work half day and take the second half of the day off.
Meanwhile, this week, the ER is meeting to decide what meds I'll be allowed to have, and no matter what messages I leave on my migraine specialist's voicemail, I can't seem to get his attention, because I need someone who knows my history and gives a flying fuck about whether I can work or not to be involved in that decision. And I don't know who in the ER is in that meeting. I just know, it's none of my docs, and it's a crapshoot if it's any docs sympathetic to my case.
I do at least hope the social worker put a note in my file of "not drugseeker" like he said he was going to.

ION, Medvedev cat safe
Following rumors that his cat had run away from home, Russian president Dmitry Medvedev reassured Twitter, the nation and the world that Dorofei is safe. This is not Dorofei's first scrape; he once lost a fight with neighbor and former president Mikhail Gorbachev's cat.
I will sleep much better tonight knowing this.
I thought Medvedev's cat was just a puppet controlled by Putin's cat.
