What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy birthday Noah and Grace! Those kids are so terrific, Kat.

And Allyson, I'm with everyone in advising that you just get out of there, regardless of your mother's tears. Go sped the rest of your visit seeing people who make you feel good about yourself.

I'm coughing too, Tom. So frigging tired of being sick, just want to lay low today.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Huh, io9 has added Google accounts to their commenting. I guess I could deal with using that authentication instead of Facebook.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have to take back all the positive thoughts I was having about the second technical support guy. I know I'm annoying, but all I'm doing is cutting and pasting back their words at them and saying "Do you mean to contradict this completely?"

He told me to call support instead, and I told him, no, I like it here where I have a printed record of what you just said.

The big deal is that the gawker network is making it mandatory for you to use FB, Gmail, or Twitter as an authentication method. They're removing the option you had previously of not tying it to anything. Now you have to use a third party to get in, and be linked to another profile somewhere.

It's not popular with the IO9 posters at least. I have a blank twitter account I'd created to match my IO9 login a long time ago, so I'm just using that, but I have no fucking idea why they want access to my tweets or who I'm following. Fuck them. Also, I'm not tweeting or following anyone, so it won't get them anything.

This doesn't sound good:

Toobin: Health law 'looks like it's going to be struck down'

The Individual Mandate, at least:

CNN's legal correspondent Jeffrey Toobin reports that the court's conservative wing appeared skeptical of the Obama administration's arguments in favor of the individual mandate provision of the Affordable Care Act.

"This was a train wreck for the Obama administration. This law looks like it's going to be struck down," Toobin said on CNN. "All of the predictions including mine that the justices would not have a problem with this law were wrong."

"The only conservative justice who looked like he might uphold the law was Chief Justice Roberts who asked hard questions of both sides, all four liberal justices tried as hard as they could to make the arguments in favor of the law, but they were -- they did not meet with their success with their colleagues," Toobin said.

I thought that option had gone away a long time ago. When I thought about registering before, it was already asking me to use Facebook or Twitter without giving me a way to set up an account another way. Maybe existing users didn't have to do it?
