Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

I can't stand Aveda's smell.

I like it, for a couple hours, though I am likely being mauled by Loki (and maybe Pumpkin) all the while. Then it starts a headache, even as I find the smell pleasant. It's odd.

Someone set off a glitterbomb at the Y. It was everywhere.

Also, Walt came back with an estimate to fix the ceiling hole and fix up my porch posts (which involves making all 4 of them support the roof, rather than the 2!! and make them pretty and matching): $275. Um YES. I think I might've found myself a househusband!

Our wings are not tired.

Sounds like a deal, sara!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bumble and Bumble

Don't know anything about them.

Huh. I just went to google "aveda anti humectant" and one of the suggestions was "aveda anti humectant black hair". Apparently it's a thing. Who knew? And, man, isn't "black" hair (or, as le n would put it a bit more clearly, Black hair) vague as all get out.

For some reason, I was originally told to get humectant, but I didn't like the smell or texture, and since I had so little hair and didn't know what I was doing, I went 180, and it turned out to be just the right answer. And, apparently, A Thing.

Most of Aveda's scents are pretty bad for me, and their lipsticks sting and make me break out. I used to use their face washes--those were pretty good, but I like Mario Badescu better now, and so do my pores.

My neighbor told me Walt was 75% cheaper than he anticipated. Uh, yeah and then some?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I can't believe you just fucking did that to me.

Let it be known that on this very day, I successfully rickrolled ita. Safari wants rickroll to be two words. I disagree.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Aveda: I get the pomade that is in the blue bottle and is CLEAR. The other shit fucks up my hair. In case that is helpful to anyone.

Len, that's what I just said! With 17x more words, but still.

Allyson, ignoring you.

Just lost power a couple times there. TiVo isn't happy about it. But I have to say, in general, they did a good job with that software, because it lets you bounce power without doing much more than losing your place in what you were watching, and stopping what was recording. I haven't had any data corruption as a result. Even though a couple times I've mistakenly turned off the external drives first. Oops.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I have been using some Lush products on my hair that might work for you.

Maybe, but... everything I've gotten from Lush has had a very strong smell, and after a while I just can't stand it. Like, right now, there's a new bar of Dove soap in the bathroom, 50 feet away, and I'm about to go throw it out a window because the smell is so annoying. I have the same problem with Aveda.

brush hair - then shower scrunch dry and ignore .

If "ignore" includes "putting clothes on over my head" or "moving around without hair in bun" it's gonna frizz. Of course, with hair in bun, it'll take hours to dry.

Really, I don't stress about that so much, though. I'm much more stressy about how much it thinned out over the last few years I lived in New Jersey. It's grown back a little, but not enough to make me happy.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

This conversation reminds me that I have no place to complain, but damn I miss my old hair. Nowadays it needs a heavy dose of product and/or time to look shiny and frizz free. I want to buy some hot rollers and try that, see if they help, but I suspect most mornings I won't have time to use them.

Let it be known that on this very day, I successfully rickrolled ita.

OMG, so much loving you, Allyson! You are on fire today.
