I wore skirts two days this week and you'd think I'd come in Chanel each time from the reaction I got. I'd just been thinking, hey, it's in the 80s, I've had a pedi and my legs are shaved—why not? But apparently I've been wearing trousers so much that skirts are a thing for me.
I liked the feedback, though, so I'll probably do this more often.
I feel like I look silly in them
That in the end is up to you. I suppose a tie will look strange over my breasts, but, like ruffles, I don't really care.
Yeah, there are a ton of things I think look silly on me, but I know that's just me in most cases. Doesn't matter! I will continue to not wear them..
All:
I need a fucking vacation. Also? I need to be able to sit down for several hours and think without bullshit.
How can I make this happen?
ita, who are you facing? Why do you guys need to dress up? I thought your customers were internal.
I need to be able to sit down for several hours and think without bullshit.
How can I make this happen?
Get stuck in an elevator? Hide in the stairwell? Drive to an industrial park or other unlikely destination at lunch and then call in with car trouble?
le nubian, I have a spare bedroom in a quiet neighborhood! You could hide here. No one will ever find you.
Sometimes when we have prospective "people" in from the field, bon, we dress up to impress them.
I have *no* idea why IT should dress up in this dog and pony show, since the guy in charge of all this is pretty convinced the outsiders never come to our floor. Said so to our faces a couple weeks ago. But the CIO says jump, we say "which tie?"
there are a ton of things I think look silly on me
There are very few things I care will look silly on me in particular, that I therefore avoid. There are things I think look silly in general, and no one should wear, and things I don't trust myself to be able to coordinate on my own, so I don't leave myself up to my own devices.
hats? tons of you crazy people think you look silly/bad in hats and YOU DO NOT!
Working from home (went in to work, had to come meet the contractor, decided to stay home.) Cats are convinced I should be napping, not working.
