Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And ita, of course you're not a beginner! You can draw people who look like people. I'm just saying.

It's a beginner/intermediate class that I tested out of. There are people who have been taking that for years. I tested into intermediate/advanced, which I would totally get not being ready for. There's some shit I *really* can't do. Like colour. Like general emotion.

has your teacher mentioned if he'll have you do gesture drawings rather than long-duration poses

He has mentioned doing exercises where I erase everything I've done when the model takes her breaks (every 20 minutes) and starting again. He's also doing a lot of prodding during the warmup sketches where the model has much more dynamic positioning.

I would also recommend buying some charcoal or (even better) vine charcoal to work with

He wants to get me using charcoal, and intends to get me there via graphite sticks or very soft pencils (I worked with 2B last night--he suggested moving straight to 8B, and then graphite sticks, and then charcoal). I am a bit scared of the deep black (and the inability to eradicate my mistakes) which is a pretty clear indicator it's a good idea.

I finally have a legitimate reason to go to an art store! This is my first lesson in over 20 years! I got all blushy when one of the other students said "But your last lesson was during your fine arts degree, right?" Go on--sweet talk the new chick. I don't mind *at all*.

Because, as has been established, I RADIATE PURE AWESOME.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

There's some shit I *really* can't do. Like colour. Like general emotion.

I bet you're reconsidering your decision to attend The Vulcan Academy of the Arts.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Logic is hella seductive. I can't lie.

John Hodgman is going to appear on Community, for those who haven't spotted him in the trailer I linked to. I'm so excited for the rest of the season, I want to write something inappropriate about my panties. But I won't, because I'm demure.
