Hmm.... Right? Why am I on a statin, Mr. Doc? When I first started this I was on a low dose amlodipine benazepril which didn't work. Then the amlodipine atorvastatin at a higher dose (which is weird because when he prescribed it, he hadn't done my cholesterol bloodwork which he said came back good, but shows my cholesterol is high).
ARGH.
Maybe I should just cut back on the cheese and eat out less and work out more.
In serious and depressing news, I think I'm going to be pink slipped this year. I have over 10 years with the district, but they are pink slipping 11,000 people. I'm sure I'm in that list.

that is fucking terrible - for you and the students and the other teachers. what madness.
I was listening to This American Life this week (I did not finish it yet) and they were talking about how Trenton, NY cut like 1/3rd or more of the cops and the crime rate has doubled. They cut other public employees and other city services are delayed and hampered.
Ugh.

The last info I can find on # of teachers is 45,000 in 2007-2008 (35,000 other employees), but there have been probably 10,000 terminated since then. So 11,000 is an insane-o huge number.
