I just got dinged because no one looked at something I put into the system a week ago. I figured, no one told me to stop, I'd move on to the next step. I'd fulfilled all the requirements...this is why I offered to help my manager. Because I put it into the system, sent her an email telling her I'd put it into the system, and she missed it. And I have to move stuff through the system without nagging. There has to be a better way. I have to become part of the system. Fix it, somehow.

Thanks, Ginger! I am going to start with someone internal who is supposed to be an industrial hygienist. I do think this guy is too spun up: walking into an old building with asbestos in it, changing a lightbulb, and then walking out, is not going to expose him to anything significant.
OTOH, these are the guys who, a few years back, burned an old shack which had been painted with lead-based-paint, and then sat around the fire for an hour or so... (Yeah, they got sick.)

Unless someone has recently been chopping on the asbestos material, it's unlikely there was a significant amount in the air.
(This gave me a flashback to a drunken rant I once made about how stabilizing asbestos in place is safer than removing it. Some people fight or sing when they're drunk. I explain things.)

I think this is part of it. Good ol' Rush just stepped forward at the exact wrong moment and picked the exact wrong target to attack, and made himself a lightning rod for the ire of, well, just about everyone. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy.
