I can't decide if this belongs in Movies or Boxed Set, so Natter it is - anyone who loved Inception or The Matrix needs to run out RIGHT NOW and get World on a Wire and watch it and then come back. I'll wait.
It's a German sci-fi miniseries from 1973, and it is wonderful. I don't know how the Wachowski's managed to snag a copy back in the 90's (since it was only just now rediscovered and released on DVD/Blu-Ray), but obviously they did because there's a bit of mise en scene in the Matrix that cannot possibly be a coincidence.
Go. NOW.
Coincidentally, a copy of this I ordered arrived just this weekend. I'm looking forward to watching it. I love Criterion.

Today has been a long ass day. State testing this morning and it totally screws with the schedule for the day, so my 2 plan periods don't happen until the end of the day. I am now tired and we have 3 more days of this.
At least I get a lot of grading and planning done while my students fill in bubbles.
