There's something about a food that moves all by itself that gives me the heebie-jeebies.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Cat hugging puppy: [link]

That doesn't really look like an affectionate hug.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

There's The World of Arrietty, which is like one week old, and probably 150% better.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

That doesn't really look like an affectionate hug.

Maybe more of a "You must chill. I have hidden your Snausages" hug?

But not nearly as heavily marketed. And neither flashy nor smart-mouthed.

Well, that or "I'm going to bite your noggin."

And neither flashy nor smart-mouthed.

I call this sentence, "flea's Yankee Virtues Assert Themselves."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am far too attached to the book to think I can sit through the movie, but The Lorax's visuals are very Seussian and that probably goes a long way.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And little kids are way more likely to be familiar with Suess than The Borrowers, no?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hey, what did LeN escape powerlessness and go see? This could be her and her beau's fault, you know.

I found my Nook! Turns out I'd taken it to bed with me...I am such a dope.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

(laughing)

I did not have to leave the house last night because power was restored 16 hours after it went out. I consider us blessed.

That said, I think there was no way in the world I could get him to see "The Lorax." But the ads made me laugh every time. The line "That's a woman?" gets me every single time. It's absurd, cute, and funny.

Ack, I have too much to do today, and I'm just sitting online. BAH. Must get moving!
