"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's a German sci-fi miniseries from 1973, and it is wonderful.

You neglected to mention it was by Fassbinder! That's a selling point.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Man I knda can't believe it's Saturday. It feels like this week went by super quick, unusual for before a vacation. Hope next week goes slow.

I think I am going to leave for vacation with a reasonably clean house and car, something that may never have happened to me before. Depending on when I wake up, and what time the SO wants to leave, I may do another hour's worth of cleaning. But thanks to flylady, it really wasn't a disaster to start with.

And I might even be able to sleep tonight, with not running around today, and feeling like I have a handle on the prep. I even booked things ahead of time! Admittedly the knife skills class and the tiramisu class were bookable online. But I had to call and talk to someone at the baths! But he was Japanese, so that was ok.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ok, I might not sleep. I had something to remember to do tomorrow morning that I was going to write down in evernote. Only I didn't write it down, I came here. And now I can't remember what.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Pork chop & eggs:

Oh, I remember now. It was call our friend's brother in law about what time to drop off the bass. Also I need to ask the SO if he made the deposit. Ok. Off to read James Herriott and sleep.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Vacation! Have fun!

I want a vacation, or at least to run away to Vegas.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Spoke too soon. Why do I do this to myself?

Dang Loki and the blinds. He started in at 6fucking30. I think I may go back to bed.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Dang Loki and the blinds.

Oh, argh. I sympathize! I'm replacing all my blinds with curtains. The cats drive me batshit clonking them around. Especially the fancy wide-slat wooden ones in the dining room. Clank clank bonk. And Percy chews string, so I can't let the pulls dangle down. PITA. I sleep better now that the blinds in my bedroom are gone and I have heavy curtains up. The cats can sit on the ledge and stare outside, and I can still have privacy and quiet.

Leo woke me at 7:30 patting at my hair and mewing piteously. Dang. I'm supposed to accomplish a lot today. Let's see if that happens.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Went to the local barony's Performers Revel yesterday. Lots of good food, lots of good music. Today is grocery day, plus a trip to the library.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So, I am watching this Lifetime movie with Lisa Rinna.

(I cannot resist)

And about 10 minutes in, I realize, I have seen this fucking movie before. And it isn't good and trashy enough for me to want to finish it. Man. What a disappointment.

But I bet I will finish it again.
